Nelson Arts Festival needs a engaging and easy way to present the festival programme each year, archive the old events and manage all the volunteer and sponsor engagement. The Festival is held over 10 – 12 days in October and has many events over that time. Each year the branding is tweaked so as well as the functional requirements we need to be able to update the design easily to accomodation the theme of the current festival.
We have been involved with the festival since 2017. The branding is done by a local design agency, Downing Design and we manage the website side of things.
The main focus of the website is to:
- Promote the events
- Make it easy to find events and book them
- Show events by category, by date and by genre with good search capabilities
- Give the festival staff an easy to use interface for managing the events
- Linking to their ticketing system (Patronbase)
Website care and hosting
A big part of the help we provide the festival is giving them a fast loading platform that copes well with traffic spikes at programme launch time and also during the festival.
We also provide facilities so that they can work on a copy of the festival site for the upcoming year without spilling the beans on the artist lineup before the programme is officially launched.
