Want to have a .nz domain name?

What does it mean?

There’s now more choice in .nz domain names, with people able to register shorter, simpler names immediately before .nz – as well as the more familiar-looking options like ‘.co.nz’ and ‘.org.nz’.
If you have the domain name www.avocadesign.co.nz you will be able to buy the new www.avocadesign.nz as well. We would highly recommend keeping the both domain names if possible.

You may have ‘Preferential Registration or Reservation’ (PRR)

Expires 30th March 2015

This means you could register or reserve the shorter version of your .nz domain name before it becomes available to anyone else. But preferential registration and reservation rights expire at 1pm, 30 March 2015 so check your domain name status and act on your options now.
If you have the domain name www.avocadesign.co.nz you will have preferential rights to be able to buy the www.avocadesign.nz as well or to replace your original domain name. We would highly recommend keeping the old one if possible. If someone else has www.avocadesign.net.nz there will be a resolution process.

After March 30th all the .nz domains that have not been registered will be freely available.

If you want the .nz version of your domain name phone or email us and we can arrange that for you.
Please Note: If we renew your current your domain name as part of your hosting account then we will have reserved it for you. This means that the domain is held aside until 30th September 2016 to give you more time to decide what to do. Please get in touch with us for more information.
