Light Nelson flick the on switch for new website

Light Nelson is an iconic biannual light festival staged by the Light Nelson Trust. It takes place in Nelson’s Queens Gardens and the surrounds. Here’s how they describe the event

As a free community event, the emphasis is on accessibility:

  • both in the support given to schools and community groups to take part,
  • and as an event that everyone – from toddlers in their jammies to the elderly in their walkers – can attend and enjoy.

As well as the submissions from practising artists and groups, Light Nelson includes works submitted by Creative Industries students at NMIT. We also commission works from noted national and international artists working in film and digital media.
As well as dazzling light, many works emphasise performance and music, with high levels of interaction and surprise for the viewer.
Light Nelson is now a proud feature on the Nelson & Tasman events calendar, standing out in winter as a beacon for the local community and visitors to the region.

We worked with the Light Nelson Trust to create a new look and feel for their website that emphasises the work, and encourages participation at all levels; as an artist, as a volunteer and as a festival goer.
Visit the website to experience the splendour of the work.
